Overview:

The Office of the VP in Nigeria released a tender under its Gas for All ​Program, seeking a solution that enables energy poor communities in ​the country to replace wood and charcoal with natural gas for their ​cooking needs, while also avoiding up to 17 million tonnes in CO2e ​emissions every year.


The purpose of this engagement included:

  • providing inputs into a commercial proposal and service blueprint ​for an IoT based service to track LPG cylinders across the country;
  • designing a robust IoT device with an power lifespan of at least 4 ​years, and
  • estimating the emission reduction potential of the project achieved ​through reduced gas flaring and deforestation.
