Overview:
The Office of the VP in Nigeria released a tender under its Gas for All Program, seeking a solution that enables energy poor communities in the country to replace wood and charcoal with natural gas for their cooking needs, while also avoiding up to 17 million tonnes in CO2e emissions every year.
The purpose of this engagement included:
- providing inputs into a commercial proposal and service blueprint for an IoT based service to track LPG cylinders across the country;
- designing a robust IoT device with an power lifespan of at least 4 years, and
- estimating the emission reduction potential of the project achieved through reduced gas flaring and deforestation.
